Privacy Policy

How we handle information collected through this website

Last updated: July 16, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Hope on the Horizon TX LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit hopeonthehorizontx.com (the "Site"). It applies to this website only.

This policy is separate from the protected health information (PHI) and treatment records created when you become a client. Those are governed by federal HIPAA law and our clinical Notice of Privacy Practices, which is provided as part of the intake process, not by this website policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

If you use our contact form or email us, we collect the information you choose to share, typically your name, email address, phone number, and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to your inquiry and, if you wish, to schedule a free consultation.

Please do not include sensitive personal or health details in the website contact form. The form is not a secure clinical channel. Share only enough to let us reach you; detailed health information is best discussed during a consultation or through our secure client portal.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, we collect limited, non-identifying analytics (such as the pages visited, general device and browser type, and how visitors arrive at the Site) to understand what's helpful and improve the experience. We use a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not sell your data or build advertising profiles about you.

How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to inquiries and schedule consultations or appointments
  • To provide and improve our therapy services and this website
  • To communicate with you about your request
  • To comply with our legal and professional obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Cookies, Analytics & Your Choices

We use self-hosted, privacy-focused Umami analytics to measure general traffic patterns. Umami does not use cookies, create advertising profiles, or track you across websites.

Our optional Facebook feed is disabled by default. If you accept Facebook cookies, your browser loads the Facebook Page Plugin directly from Meta. Meta may then set or read cookies and receive device and activity information under its own Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy. If you decline, the feed remains disabled and the rest of the Site continues to work.

The EMDR page includes an optional YouTube video that is also disabled by default. We use YouTube's Privacy Enhanced Mode and do not create the video player or contact YouTube until you choose to load it. If enabled, Google and YouTube receive ordinary device, connection, and viewing information under Google's Privacy Policy. The video does not autoplay.

We store your Facebook and YouTube choices in your browser's local storage so we can remember them. You can change either choice at any time through Cookie Preferences in the Site footer, and the EMDR video also provides a direct disable control. Withdrawing consent stops the Site from loading that external content on future page loads; you can manage or remove cookies the providers previously stored through your browser or provider settings.

Third-Party Services

Our website fonts are hosted directly on this website, so displaying the site's typography does not require a connection to Google Fonts or another font provider.

Some features rely on trusted third parties, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Online scheduling & client portal, appointment booking and secure client communication are handled through our practice management provider (SimplePractice), which maintains its own HIPAA-compliant privacy and security practices.
  • Google Maps, the contact page includes an embedded map that loads directly from Google when it enters view. Google receives ordinary connection and interaction information under its Privacy Policy.
  • Facebook feed, if you accept Facebook cookies, Meta provides the embedded feed and may collect information as described above.
  • YouTube video, if you allow YouTube content, Google provides the privacy-enhanced embedded player and may collect information as described above.
  • External links, links to Facebook, Instagram, Psychology Today, Google Maps, YouTube, and SimplePractice take you to those providers, which collect information under their own policies.

How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate the Site and respond to you (for example, with the service providers above) or when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of you or others. We never sell your information.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information submitted through the Site, including transmission over a secure (HTTPS) connection. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. This is another reason not to send sensitive health details through the website contact form.

Protected Health Information & HIPAA

Any health information you share once you become a client (during sessions, intake, or through the secure client portal) is protected health information governed by HIPAA and our clinical Notice of Privacy Practices, not by this website policy. Information submitted casually through the public website (such as a contact-form message) is not treated as PHI and should not include clinical details.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, do not use this website to seek help. Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or dial 911.

Your Choices & Rights

You may request that we update or delete the contact information you've provided through the Site, and you may opt out of further communications at any time by replying to a message or emailing us. To exercise these choices, contact us using the details below.

Children's Privacy

This Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website. Therapy services for minors are arranged directly with a parent or legal guardian.

Links to Other Sites

The Site may link to external websites we do not control. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
